meet LAURA

Hello, I am a Canadian artist living in Squamish, British Columbia.  I create paintings that connect you to people and places that you love.  My work is inspired by my time in nature, my connection with others, and traveling throughout Canada and the world.  I was born and raised in Barrie, Ontario and spent the majority of my life on the eastern shores of Georgian Bay.  I have recently moved to British Columbia and am enjoying exploring and creating works of art representing the beauty and awe that I find in the dramatic landscapes that surround me.  I studied visual arts at the University of Guelph and am also an Ontario and BC qualified teacher.

COLLABORATIONS

Painted Paddle Project

Campfire Circle Fundraiser

I painted a serene scene of Georgian Bay on a solid aluminum paddle designed and manufactured by Weldco-Beales Manufacturing in Barrie, ON. Paddles are auctioned off to raise funds for the Campfire Circle; a privately funded charity that brings laughter and joy to kids and families affected by childhood cancer.

Collector Glass Project

Georgian Bay Spirit Co.

I was part of this fun project by Georgian Bay Spirit co. along with two other artists, highlighting the beauty of Georgian Bay. I created a painting that was printed on seventeen thousand glasses, and distributed to liquor stores nationwide. These collector glasses were available as a sales promotion during the summer of 2021.
